Tata Young's Biography


Tata Young has been Thailand's youngest pop sensation and now she is ready for an international challenge with her debut English album "I Believe", which was released by Columbia Records in 2004. Although she is only 25, an eleven-year singer has already released six albums and established herself as a Thailand's idol. With a high success in Thailand, she is an Asian new wave that is making her move to an international market.

Tata Amita Marie Young is the only child of an American father and a Thai mother. During her childhood, Tata had shown the signs of her singing talent that would take her from a Thailand's pop icon to an international artist. At at 11, she beat thousands of children at her age to be the winner of Thailand Junior Singing Contest. Three years later, she was discovered by Grammy Entertainment, Thailand's leading entertainment company, which signed her a contract.

Within a short period of time, Tata had recorded and released several albums which always become a big hit. At only 15, Tata has become the biggest pop sensation in Thailand. Despite the acceptance in her home country, Tata's popularity brought her name abroad. She was chosen to represent Thailand on an Australian television program, which was aired in Australia and throughout Southeast Asian countries. In 1998, Tata was chosen to sing the theme song at the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok.

Tata's talents have not been limited to just a singing career. Trendy, vivacious and beautiful, she has also developed a highly successful modeling and acting career. She made her film debut "The Red Bike Story", which was very well accepted and make her get the Best Actress Award. She also has been featured on the covers of many magazines around the region. Elle Magazine named her one of Thailand's 10 most influential people and Asia week selected her as one of 25 most influential trend-makers in Asia. Two years later , she was on the cover of Time magazine in their study of successful Eurasians in Asia.
