Things I have learned during this class

This class is like other classes that teach me a lot of new things that are very useful and interesting. I have learned about how to write a report writing and charts and graphs writing, which are very useful for my studies and my future career. I have also learned about a creative writing such as a back story of ad or photo, which is not easy but challenging to do. I learned a lot of new things from reading and writing class every day from tiny to the big things that help fill my gap of English. Reading and Writing class give me a chance to practice my writing, which is very important for my graduate studies and I feel that I need to master it in order to succeed in a graduate school. All of these works are very challenging and keep me busy throughout this session. At the same time I benefit a lot from them and I am very proud of myself once that I have gone through these challenging works.

My early life

My childhood was the happiest moment in my life. I grew up in a big family with three children around my age: my two cousins and my younger sister. We always did a lot of fun activities. One of them was a story-telling from my grandmother. She told us stories about her life and other interesting events and things in the past; but our most favorite story was a series of ghost stories. We asked her to tell us stories again and again, we had never been bored to listen. Every time she told a story we were scared to death, but we enjoyed it so much.

The most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people

Introduction
The most efficient way to communicate an idea or value to a large group of people can be done through the use of images and language. The use of language is equally important to the use of images in conveying an idea or value in order to make the most effective communication. This is because the use of image is the best at rousing emotion whereas the use of language is the best at giving succinct information.

The power of the combining usage of language and images
The use of images and language plays an important role in communication process. Both images and language have different benefits on communication, the use of both will enhance each other. Lacking one can result in the unsuccessful and ineffective communication. Common forms of communication include language, speaking, writing, gesture and broadcast. Communication is considered to be successful when its objective is obtained. Communications has purposes whether to inform, to persuade or to serve other purposes. In order to accomplish these objectives, the information should be easily understood and be persuasive. Obviously, images and language help achieve these purposes.

The advantage of the use of language in communication
Language is a primary symbol that is used for communicating an idea, opinion, knowledge, experience and value to other people. Verbal communication is the best tool for communicating linguistic and contextual meanings. Especially when we convey an idea or value to people, we need to give them clear and concise information, which language is used as a means. Although, we can communicate with each other by using images, there are some limits that the use of images can not make an efficient communication. For example, language can be used to describe things more clear than images. Imagine that you are reading an economic graph without number and description of a graph you can not understand or partly understand the meaning of it.

The advantage of the use of images in communication
Unlike words, images are capable of passing on emotional and unspoken meanings. The power of images is their abilities to avoid the restriction of language. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. For instance, the picture of the debris of houses after the Tsunami expresses more feeling than words. Images are always used in a persuasive communication especially on an advertisement. Thus, the use of images is the most effective way to communicate feeling, hidden meanings and descriptive information.

Conclusion
The most efficient means to convey an idea and value to large groups of people is through the use of both words and images. This is because each one has a different attribute and restriction, which can be operated for a distinctive purpose. The use of images has an influential effect on arousing emotion while the use of words is powerful in giving a concise information and meaning. Therefore, the combination of these two means will bring about the most successful communication in idea and value to the mass.

A joyous time at Sofia's apartment !!!

I've stayed at Sofia's apartment since Wednesday night. This is because my uncle went out of town on Thursday ,so no one can give me a ride to school. It was sad, wasn't it? My uncle's house is in Sugarland , which is a way too far from here. There's no bus I can catch to school. That's why I spent a night at Sofia' apartment. I've had a good time there, she takes care of me everything.

Gracias, Sofia. Estoy muy feliz (I am very very happy).
